Welcome to Your Youth Club!

A place to connect, share and belong.

Being part of the TSANZ Youth Club means having a community of people who understand what it's like to live with Turner syndrome. It's a space to make friends, share experiences, ask questions and have fun together.

Connect, Share & Belong

Virtual Youth Club Meetings

Connect, share experiences and make new friends.

Our virtual Youth Club meetings bring young people together through Microsoft Teams for relaxed, friendly catch-ups led by our Youth Representatives.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Your space to connect

Meet others who understand what it's like to have Turner syndrome. Share stories, ask questions, exchange ideas and enjoy getting to know each other.

๐Ÿฆ‹ Led by young people

Our Youth Representatives lead the meetings and help shape activities around what matters to members.

๐Ÿ’œ Safeguarding and support

All meetings are recorded for safeguarding purposes. Nominated TSANZ adults are available to provide support or intervene when needed but do not routinely attend.

Everyone participating must follow our Youth Club House Rules, which you can read below.

Messenger Youth Chat

Stay connected, make friends and keep the conversation going.

Our TSANZ Messenger Youth Chat is a friendly online space for young people aged 13โ€“20 to connect between Youth Club activities, share experiences and build friendships.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Connect between meetings

Keep in touch with other young people who understand what itโ€™s like to have Turner syndrome. Share whatโ€™s happening, ask questions and enjoy being part of the community.

๐Ÿฆ‹ A space for young people

The chat is a peer-to-peer space where young people can connect directly, with nominated TSANZ adult moderators available to support and intervene when needed.

๐Ÿ’œ Safe and supported

The chat is not monitored 24/7, and private messages between members are not monitored by TSANZ. All participants are expected to follow our Youth Club House Rules.

๐Ÿ”’ Joining the chat

Membership is managed by TSANZ. Once the required consent has been confirmed, eligible participants receive an invitation link and their membership is approved by a group administrator.

Your Club, Your Voice

Created for young people, shaped by young people.

TSANZ Youth Club is a place where your voice matters. Our Youth Representatives help lead the Club, bring young people together and create opportunities to connect, share experiences and build friendships.

๐Ÿฆ‹ Have your say

Got an idea for a Youth Club activity, conversation or online catch-up? We'd love to hear it. Your ideas help shape what the Youth Club becomes.

๐Ÿ’œ Be yourself

There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. Whether you enjoy chatting, listening or getting involved in activities, you're welcome here.

โœจ Grow together

The Youth Club is about building friendships, supporting one another and creating a community where young people with Turner syndrome feel connected and included.

Staying Safe Together

Your space. Your community. Everyone's safety matters.

We want everyone to feel welcome, included and comfortable being themselves at TSANZ Youth Club.

Our House Rules help keep our virtual meetings and Messenger Youth Chat friendly, respectful and safe for everyone.

They explain what's expected, how we protect privacy, what adult support is available and what to do if something doesn't feel right.

Please take a few minutes to read the rules and discuss them with your parent or caregiver before joining.

TSANZ Youth Club House Rules

A few simple rules to keep our online Youth Club and Youth Chat safe, welcoming and fun for everyone.

๐Ÿฆ‹ Your Youth Club

The Youth Club is run by our Youth Representatives, with support from TSANZโ€™s Youth and Family Officers. We want this to be a space where young people can connect, talk openly, share experiences and help shape what the Youth Club becomes.

๐Ÿ’œ Be kind

Everyone should feel welcome. Bullying, teasing, harassment, discrimination or deliberately making someone uncomfortable isnโ€™t okay.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Keep it appropriate

Itโ€™s absolutely okay to talk about Turner Syndrome, ask questions, share experiences and have a laugh. Conversations and content still need to be appropriate for everyone taking part.

๐Ÿ”’ Respect everyoneโ€™s privacy

What people share in the Youth Club should be treated with respect. Donโ€™t screenshot, photograph or share another personโ€™s comments, images or personal information outside the group without their permission.

๐ŸŽฅ Meetings are recorded

Youth Club virtual meetings will be recorded as a record of the session. Participants will be made aware of this before joining, and the recordings will be managed by TSANZ.

Personal recordings, screenshots or sharing of meeting content by participants are not permitted.

๐Ÿค Adults are there when you need them

The Youth Club is run by our Youth Representatives, rather than adults sitting in and running the sessions. TSANZโ€™s Youth and Family Officers, or another nominated adult representative if they are unavailable, will have supervisory access to the meetings.

An adult support person will also be on call for every session. If our Youth Representatives need help managing a situation or believe adult support is needed, they can contact that person to join the meeting and assist.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Keep contact safe

Be thoughtful about sharing personal contact details or privately messaging other Youth Club members outside the group.

If anything about an interaction makes you uncomfortable, tell one of the Youth Representatives, a Youth and Family Officer, another trusted adult or your parent/caregiver.

๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ Messenger group chats

The TSANZ Youth Chat is an extension of the Youth Club for ages 13โ€“20. It is a peer-to-peer space for young people to stay connected between Youth Club activities.

Membership of the Youth Chat will be approved by TSANZ. Participants aged 13โ€“17 must have parent or caregiver consent before joining. Participants aged 18 โ€“ 20 can join in their own right.

The Youth Chat will have at least two nominated TSANZ adult moderators. They help keep the chat safe, approve members and step in when needed, but the chat is not monitored 24/7.

New members may only be invited to join through the agreed TSANZ process, using a chat invitation link once the required consent has been confirmed.

Private messages between members are outside TSANZโ€™s direct supervision. TSANZ adult moderators will not start private one-to-one chats with young people unless this is necessary for safeguarding or TSANZ guidance, this will be handled transparently.

The same privacy expectations apply in Messenger as in Teams meetings: do not share screenshots, messages, photos or personal information from the chat outside the group without express permission.

๐Ÿ™‹ Speak up

If something happens that makes you uncomfortable, you donโ€™t have to deal with it yourself. Speak to one of our Youth Representatives, one of the group moderators or contact the adult support person.

๐Ÿ’— If something goes wrong

Our Youth Representatives can ask someone to stop inappropriate behaviour or conversation and can contact the adult support person at any time.

Where necessary, the supporting adult can join the meeting, help manage the situation or remove someone from the session or chat to keep everyone safe. Any significant concerns will be followed up by TSANZ.

These house rules apply to TSANZ Youth Club virtual meetings and messenger chat.
